John 14:15-30

If you love me, you will obey my commandments.

I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, who will stay with you for ever.

He is the Spirit who reveals the truth about God.

The world cannot receive him, because it cannot see him or know him.

But you know him, because he remains with you and is in you.

When I go, you will not be left all alone; I will come back to you.

In a little while the world will see me no more, but you will see me; and because I live, you also will live.

When that day comes, you will know that I am in my Father
and that you are in me, just as I am in you.

Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me.

My Father will love those who love me;

I too will love them and reveal myself to them.

Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “Lord, how can it be that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”

Jesus answered him, “Whoever loves me will obey my teaching.

My Father will love him, and my Father and I will come to him and live with him.

Whoever does not love me does not obey my teaching.

And the teaching you have heard is not mine, but comes from the Father, who sent me.

I have told you this while I am still with you.

The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.

“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you.

I do not give it as the world does.

Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.

You heard me say to you, ‘I am leaving, but I will come back to you.’

If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father;
for he is greater than I.

I have told you this now before it all happens,
so that when it does happen, you will believe.

I cannot talk with you much longer, because the ruler of this world is coming.

He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father; that is why I do everything as he commands me.

John 14:1-7

Do not be worried and upset,” Jesus told them.

Believe in God and believe also in me.

There are many rooms in my Father’s house,

and I am going to prepare a place for you.

I would not tell you this if it were not so.

And after I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come back and take you to myself,

so that you will be where I am.

You know the way that leads to the place where I am going.

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going;

so how can we know the way to get there?”

Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life;

no one goes to the Father except by me.

Now that you have known me,” he said to them,

you will know my Father also,

and from now on you do know him and you have seen him.

Micah 4:1-5

In days to come

the mountain where the Temple stands

will be the highest one of all,

towering above all the hills.

Many nations will come streaming to it,

and their people will say,

“Let us go up the hill of the Lord,

among his own vineyards and fig trees,

and no one will make him afraid.

The Lord Almighty has promised this.

Each nation worships and obeys its own god,

but we will worship and obey the Lord our God for ever and ever.

John3:31-36

He who comes from above is greater than all.

He who is from the earth belongs to the earth

and speaks about earthly matters,

but he who comes from heaven is above all.

He tells what he has seen and heard,

yet no one accepts his message.

But whoever accepts his message

confirms by this that God is truthful.

The one whom God has sent speaks God’s words,

because God gives him the fullness of his Spirit.

The Father loves his Son

and has put everything in his power.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;

whoever disobeys the Son will not have life,

but will remain under God’s punishment.

John 12:44-50

Jesus said in a loud voice, “Whoever believes in me

believes not only in me but also in him who sent me.

Whoever sees me sees also him who sent me.

1 have come into the world as light, so that everyone

who believes in me should not remain in the darkness.

If anyone hears my message and does not obey it,

I will not judge him. I came, not to judge the world, but to save it.

Those who reject me and do not accept my message

have one who will judge them.

The words I have spoken will be their judge on the last day!

This is true, because I have not spoken on my own authority,

but the Father who sent me has commanded me what I must say and speak.

And I know that his command brings eternal life.

What I say, then, is what the Father has told me to say.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-58

Listen to this secret truth: we shall not all die,

but when the last trumpet sounds;

we shall all be changed in an instant,

as quickly as the blinking of an eye when the trumpet sounds,

the dead will be raised, never to die again, and we shall all be changed.

For what is mortal must be changed into what is immortal;

what will die must be changed into what cannot die.

S0 when this takes place, and the mortal has been changed into the immortal,

then the scripture will come true: “Death is destroyed; victory is complete!”

Where, Death, is your victory?

Where, Death, is you power to hurt?”

Death gets its power to hurt from sin, and sin gets its power from the Law.

But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

So then, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and steady.

Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless.

Malachi 3:13-18

“You have said terrible things about me,” says the Lord.

“But you ask, ‘What have we said about you?’

You have said, ‘It’s useless to serve God.

What’s the use of doing what he says or trying to show

the Lord Almighty that we are sorry for what we have done?

As we see it, proud people are the ones who are happy.

Evil people not only prosper, but they test God’s patience

with their evil deeds and get away with it.”

Then the people who feared the Lord spoke to one another,

and the Lord listened and heard what they said.

In his presence, there was written down in a book a record

of those who feared the Lord and respected him.

“They will be my people,” says the Lord Almighty.

“On the day when I act, they will be my very own.

I will be merciful to them, as a father is merciful to the son who serves him.

Once again my people will see the difference between what

happens to the righteous and to the wicked, to the person

who serves me and the one who does not.

2 Peter 3:8-15

But do not forget one thing, my dear friends!
There is no difference in the Lord’s sight
between one day and a thousand years;
to him the two are the same.
The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised,
as some think.
Instead, he is patient with you,
because he does not want anyone to be destroyed,
but wants all to turn away from their sins.
But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief.
On that Day the heavens will disappear with a shrill noise,
the heavenly bodies will burn up and be destroyed,
and the earth with everything in it will vanish.
Since all these things will be destroyed in this way,
what kind of people should you be?
Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God,
as you wait fot the Day of God
and do your best to make it come soon -
the Day when the heavens will burn up,
and the heavenly bodies will be melted by the heat.
But we wait for what God has promised:
a new heaven and a new earth,
where righteousness will be at home.
And so, my friends, as you wait for that day,
do your best to be pure and faultless in God’s sight
and to be at peace with him.
Look on our Lord’s patience as the opportunity
he has giving you to be saved,
just as our dear brother Paul; wrote to you,
using the wisdom that God gave him.

Some people claim he’s a great teacher.
Others think he’s a prophet. Some dismiss him as a liar or even a madman. Millions hail him as Savior and Lord. Whatever people think of him, nobody can deny that he stands at the very crux of human history.The biblical record of his life shows that Jesus was born to a virgin, lived a sinless life, taught throughout Palestine for about three years, was crucified and then rose back to life three days after his death.

The Bible claims that more than 500 people saw him alive after this miraculous event. How could a mere man have lived such a life? The miracles Jesus performed, his death on the cross, his resurrection, his ascent to heaven–all point to the fact that he was no ordinary leader.

Hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth, prophets predicted his coming. The Old Testament, written by many people over a period of 1,500 years, contains more than 300 such prophecies. All of these details came true, including his miraculous birth, his sinless life, his many miracles, his death and his resurrection.

By his own account, Jesus claimed he had the power to forgive sins, to cast out demons, and to determine people’s eternal destiny. He even declared he himself was God!

Declaring that he was God so angered the religious and political leaders of his day that they had him crucified. They buried him in a borrowed grave, and three days later, he rose from the dead.

The resurrection of Jesus is what makes Christianity unique and radically different from Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Shintoism, Judaism, and Islam. In fact, the validity of Christianity hinges on the proof of the resurrection of Jesus. If the resurrection never took place, then the Christian faith is based on a lie and people have no true hope for life after they die. But if it is true, then we can do nothing else but accept Jesus as Savior and Lord and receive his gift of love and forgiveness.

Throughout the centuries, most great scholars who have considered the proofs of the resurrection have believed, and still believe that Jesus is alive.

Read Luke 9:1-10

God often visit people. The Bible is filled with descriptions of instances where God visited people.When Jesus went to Jericho, it was not a coincidental visit. He entered not only Zacchaeus’s home but his heart as well, and touched his whole life.

This was important, because instead of Zacchaeus owning his possessions, Zacchaeus’s possesions owned him!

Zacchaeus was rejected by the community as a tax collector, but Jesus touched him in love and he opened his home to the Lord – and his heart along with it. Thus Jesus took possession
of the rich man’s entire life.

What is it that enslaves you?

Could it be your house, your business, your career, your sport, or your personal capabilities?

It could even be your failures!

You might be inextricably bound by your sins, or your fears, or your problems.

Allow Jesus and his love to enter your life and change it today – just as he did with Zacchaeus.

Let him become a reality in your life.

Ask him to take complete possession of everything concerning you.

“Enter, Lord Jesus, and take possession of my deepest being. sit on the throne of my heart and reign over my life.”
